Volume 3 - April Theme: How do You Spell S-I-M-P-L-I-F-Y?
Dessert: Vanilla Ice Cream, Pure & Simple!
Candy: A Simple Pure Chocolate Hershey® Bar
When was the last time you were served simple vanilla ice cream all by itself without any sprinkles, hot fudge, or whipped topping? Who knows? Maybe we'll taste the ice cream this time!
- Go to the LIBRARY and check out as many books as you can carry with "simple" or "simplify" in the title. Show the women visually how many books have been written on the subject.
- Write your own book at tonight's Sweet Monday. Give each woman at least one index card (3X5) and have her jot down one thing she does to simplify her life.
- Read the cards aloud and let women guess who wrote what OR have each woman share her own.
- Tell women that they may jot down any others before they leave as you are going to compile a small booklet or handout to distribute next month!
DON'T FORGET
Announce next SWEET MONDAY date.

Theme: HOW DO YOU SPELL SIMPLIFY?
I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. Philippians 4:11 NIV
REMARKS
Simple lives breathe contentment. Only recently did I notice that God tells us in His Word that contentment is learned. None of us are born content. One way to spell S-I-M-P-L-I-F-Y and contentment is by not spending our seconds thinking, "If I only had... "
Our church met in a school building for five years. In the chorus room, where Sunday School often took place, was a poster entitled "If I only had..." The Wizard of Oz is at the center of the poster. The four quadrants around it feature the scarecrow (if I only had a brain), the tin man (if I only had a heart), the lion (if I only had "da nerve") [ I would have said c c c courage ] and of course, Dorothy (if I only had a home).
Every time I see that poster, I want to change it. If I only have... Jesus! Because if I have Jesus, I have a brain, which is the mind of Christ, I have a heart, a new heart, I have courage in Christ, and I have a home, an eternal home in heaven. Oh, "There's no place like HOME!"
PRAYER
Thank You, Lord, that I always have a place to go when I have You. I don't need to live my days thinking, "If I only had..." because I have YOU, and the simple fact is that you satisfy every need, not every want, but every need. Thank YOU.
