In days gone by, there was a custom of neighbors welcoming neighbors with a plate of cookies to connect with them on a more personal level. At Sweet Monday, we want to revive this custom and invite you to participate in Project Cupcake!
Project Cupcake provides an opportunity for anyone, regardless of age, race, political affiliation, faith, social status, educational background, income level, gender or nationality to demonstrate the love of Christ to their “neighbor”. We are in a sad state in our society where hatred is the norm and love is the exception. Project Cupcake encourages crossing party lines and front lawns, dropping preconceived ideas and prejudices, for the simple sake of sharing God’s love by taking a bag of sweet treats to a “neighbor”.
The goal of Project Cupcake is to motivate as many people as we can to reach out to others in their neighborhood by taking them a bag of sweet treats (cookies, cupcakes, etc.), facilitating deeper relationships and an opportunity to share Christ’s love. Just as Samaritan’s Purse provides empty shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child, Sweet Monday will provide empty pastry bags, free of charge, to be filled by the participant and delivered to their “neighbor”. In Sweet Monday style, the bags can be filled with treats that are homemade or bought from your favorite bakery or grocery store. The goal is face to face connection with a “neighbor”.
We hope to inspire a global movement of love and good deeds.
