A Sweet Season of Prayer

October 27, 2022 by Paula Nelson

Preparing our hearts to reach women for Christ.

Purpose: To dedicate a short season (8 days) of prayer to reaching women for Christ.

Day 1 – Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19
Lord, you have called all believers to go and make disciples. Lead Sweet Monday in such a way that women are inspired to answer this calling, making disciples in their neighborhoods and communities around the world.

Day 2– Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Matthew 22:37
Lord, may we walk so closely with you that you put in us an insatiable desire to demonstrate your love to our neighbors in real and practical ways, including opening our hearts and homes to them through Sweet Monday.

Day 3– “Come, follow Me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” And at once they left their nets and followed Him.… Matthew 4:19
Lord, help us to drop whatever is hindering us from following you. May we respond in immediate obedience to follow you, wherever you are leading. Let your Holy Spirit reign in our hearts and your love radiate from our lives in such a way that we too may be called fishers of men.

Day 4 – Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:25
Lord, in our world that is moving toward isolation where loneliness is epidemic, let Sweet Monday be the catalyst inspiring women to meet together regularly, encouraging one another with your love.

Day 5 – Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:9-10
Lord, remind us that hospitality is your heart. May your loving and gracious welcome of us into your kingdom drive our desire to intentionally, graciously and lovingly open the doors of our hearts and homes to neighbors and friends.

Day 6 – And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds Hebrews 10:24
Lord, inspire us with creative and unique ways to spur women on as they live out the Great Commission and the Great Commandment, reaching women for Christ, one sweet invitation at a time.

Day 7 – Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. John 15:4
Lord, thank you for your Holy Spirit which lives in each one of your children. Thank you for grafting our hearts to yours. We know that without you, we can do nothing. Let us live each day keenly aware of your abiding presence with us, guiding us, leading us, producing in us your fruit, fruit that will last into eternity.

Day 8 – Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:37
Earnestly now we plead to you, Lord of the harvest, send out laborers into your harvest. We know even now you are working in the hearts and souls of our friends and neighbors to draw them to yourself, your amazing grace, forgiveness, and love. Lord send me! Send out Sweet Monday Hostesses. Send out women to share the Gospel through hospitality. Let Sweet Monday be a means for you to send your laborers out into your harvest today.

January 2020 Sweet Scripture Writing

December 26, 2019 by Edith Parks

“Out with the old and in with the new.” How many times have we heard that as we begin a new year? With Jesus that is true, in Him we are new. We have received mercy and forgiveness and are righteous. His Holy Spirit lives in us.

As we write together this month, we will be remembering what it means to be new in Christ and how that is worked out in our lives.

From the Staff and Board of Sweet Monday, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

“There’s a Sweet Monday group in Charleston that I used to attend. I loved that group of ladies – they became my family when we moved here and I had no family close. I loved the fellowship and how easy it was to get to know all of them!” Sweet Cathey, Summerville, SC

“I had been asking God to give me a way to broaden my hospitality sphere to include women I don’t usually interact with. I was even going to try something like this but with a different ministry before I even knew about Sweet Monday, however, this one just seemed like more of what I was looking for.” Sweet Hollie, Marietta, PA

“I’ve been wanting to minister to women but have been trepidatious about it. This is the perfect, most perfect solution.” Sweet Julia, New Holland, PA

“In 2004 a friend and I hosted a Sweet Monday group in NJ and it was a great way to bring women from all age groups together. God has been nudging me to start one now in Texas.” Sweet Sue, Allen, TX
